IPIP Group Usage and Privacy Guidelines

WhatsApp group or Social Media Pages policies for professional associations like the Irish Pakistan ICT Professional Association (iPIP) are typically established to ensure that the group remains focused, professional, and aligned with its objectives. Since iPIP is likely a professional network, the policies would aim to foster productive discussions, knowledge sharing, and networking within the field of ICT (Information and Communication Technology).

  1. Professional Conduct
    • Respectful Communication: All members should communicate respectfully, avoiding offensive language, personal attacks, or inflammatory remarks.
    • Constructive Discussions: Focus on constructive discussions that benefit the group, such as sharing knowledge, resources, and opportunities related to ICT.
    • No Spamming: Avoid sending irrelevant content or spam. This includes promotional content, chain messages, or off-topic links.
    • Be Mindful of Tone: Keep a professional tone at all times, avoiding overly casual or inappropriate remarks.
  1. Relevant Content
    • ICT-Related Discussions: Posts should focus on ICT-related topics, such as software development, cybersecurity, data science, job opportunities, or networking events.
    • Sharing Resources: Members are encouraged to share articles, events, and job openings that are relevant to the ICT field and beneficial for other group members.
    • No Political/Religious Discussions: To maintain the professional nature of the group, avoid sharing content related to politics. religion or ethnicity.
  1. Confidentiality
    • Respect Privacy: Personal or professional information shared within the group should not be disclosed outside the group without permission.
    • No Sharing of Sensitive Data: Members should avoid sharing sensitive or confidential business information.
    • Respect for Private Information: Sharing another member’s personal information, such as phone numbers or email addresses, without consent is a privacy violation. If a member wants to refer another member to someone outside the group, prior consent from the member in question is required. Being part of a WhatsApp group or social media Pages makes members’ phone numbers visible to others within the group. In case of information leaks, group admins are not liable.
    • Member Responsibility: While group admins actively monitor activities to maintain group policy adherence, they and the IPIP management are not responsible for any individual actions of members who may violate these policies.
  1. Engagement
    • Active Participation: Members are encouraged to participate actively by sharing their expertise, asking questions, and responding to discussions.
    • No Lurking: Members who consistently remain inactive or do not contribute may be removed after a warning to ensure active engagement within the group.
  1. Job Postings & Opportunities
    • Verified Opportunities Only: Any job openings, business opportunities, or freelance work shared in the group should be legitimate and verified.
    • No Recruitment Spamming: Recruitment agencies or individuals should not flood the group with job postings; a moderated frequency may be set (e.g., only once a week).
  1. Event Sharing
    • Relevant Events Only: Only events related to ICT, professional development, or networking that are relevant to members of the association should be shared.
    • No Over-Promotion: Avoid excessive promotion of personal events, webinars, or courses unless they align with the interests of the group.
  1. Administration and Moderation
    • Admins’ Role: The group admins (likely association leaders or trusted members) will enforce the rules, ensure that discussions stay on track, and manage any conflicts that arise.
    • Warnings and Removal: Members who violate the group rules may receive warnings, and repeated violations can result in removal from the group.
    • Moderation of Content: Admins reserve the right to remove posts that are inappropriate, irrelevant, or violate the group’s policy.
  1. No Personal Solicitation
    • No Fundraising or Personal Solicits: Avoid soliciting for donations, selling personal items, or promoting personal business ventures unless they directly relate to the group’s purpose.
    • No Fundraising Campaigns: Fundraising or money collection campaigns are not permitted within the IPIP WhatsApp group or social media Pages. Members are advised to refrain from initiating or promoting any monetary collection activities to maintain the group’s focus and purpose.
  1. Time Etiquette
    • Respect Time Zones: Since this group includes members from Ireland and avoid messaging at odd hours unless necessary.
  1. No Forwarding Fake News or Unverified Information
    • Fact-Checking Required: Only share news or information that is verifiable and relevant to the group’s ICT focus. Avoid spreading rumours or fake news.
